Vanessa (Victim of Abuse)

I’ve spent years hiding behind smiles, pretending everything is okay when it’s not. I’ve lived in fear, trying to protect my children while feeling powerless. But last night, I couldn’t keep pretending anymore. I got on my knees and prayed, 'Lord, give me the courage to leave. Help me find a way out.' The next morning, I reached out to a shelter, and they gave me the support I needed. It’s not easy, and the road ahead is long, but I know that prayer is my strength. It’s the light in my darkest moments.
